Top tips for good internet broadcasting

Technology is easy these days so anyone can be a camera operator, but it take skills to manage a production property - which is why the video camera operator profession is alive and kicking.  To make your internet broadcast more talked about than television, here are a few tips:-

  1. 1.Plan ahead.  Line up all that you need for your show.  Have a rehearsal and make sure you let your audience know what’s coming up whilst you broadcast.

  2. 2.Make sure you have good sound.  People do not forgive bad sound.  Use professional directional microphones or radio mics - not the internal microphone on the camera.

  3. 3.Be as professional with the presentation as is possible.  Use cross fades and cuts - forget any fancy transitions - and make sure your presenters know when they are on!
